Stephanie Davidson has contributed two poems to Together Behind Four Walls, with two different lengths, one very short and crisp, the other long. The longer poem is a moving tribute to a much loved dog. Stephanie talks about her time during lockdown and the thinking behind her poem. You can also read an exert of her poem.
Stephanie Davidson lives in North Canterbury in the South Island of New Zealand, in a quaint converted church. Stephanie writes her truth and from the heart. Usually bustling on multiple tasks, lockdown forced her to be still. Her mind relaxed, and as she found herself e-chatting with an encouraging new writer friend, creativity began to flow onto the page. She found writing to be somewhat therapeutic but most of all fun. Best of all, she says, the Covid 19 lockdown blessed her with relaxed time to spend with her treasured dog Isabelle, since deceased. This poem is a tribute to her.
