Born in Manchester and have lived in many places around Europe and the UK I am retired and began writing poetry and prose during difficult time in my life and found it helped me get through it. I enjoy music and riding my Motorcycle and just being out and about on the open road.
Was your creativity affected in anyway during the lock down? Did being lock down make you feel inspired or deflated? Yes I found lock down very difficult and wrote very little during this time
Was it therapeutic doing creative work during lock down? When I did write in lock down I found it helped at times but also difficult.
What was the main thinking behind your poem submitted to Together Behind Four Walls ?
The poem I submitted was really the first one i had completed during lock down and I just wanted to write something and get it out there in some way What inspires most of your poems, I write about life and I read other poets work and find this often inspires me.
Do you have any favourite poems, from all the poems you have written? Yes I have a couple that I have written and when performed at open mic nights they have been well received
Do you remember the first poem you ever wrote or one of the first? Yes
Do you ever think of poems before going to sleep or just after waking up? I tend to write in the very early hours of the morning
Do you hand write poems or go directly on to your computer? Always hand write first and keep copies of all of them often there is a lot of crossing out and scribble on them.
Do you ever give up on poems you have started? Yes many times Do you do any other creative activities? I don't think I have
Do you only focus on poetry or do you also write prose? I tend to write more prose than poetry
Do your poems ever have strong messages? Yes many of them are about life or events going on in the world.
How would you describe the tone of your poems? Very deep and sometimes very emotional
If you had to write a poem about yourself, how would it start?
I chose this road.
